Neurodiversity in Education Conference

Neurodiversity in Education Conference

These are the kind of events that fill your cup as parent or educator. The energy, the connections, the learning, the fun… were absolutely incredible. The 2nd Neurodiversity in Education conference was held in Kilkenny and we welcomed many experts in education to provide information, tools, resources, support, and inspiration to parents and educators who work and / or live with neurodivergent children.

We learned about the sensory system, regulation before learning, the importance of movement and sensory breaks for all children, integration VS inclusion, the role and development of identity in autistic children, CoParenting strategies and resources to support our children’s wellbeing, strategies to support children and adults with trauma, autism supports available in Ireland, the importance of rhythm and music for our nervous system and regulation, the benefits of play to support our children’s needs, interests, and connection, and so much more!

We felt so inspired, empowered, and energised to keep advocating for our children’s rights in this unpredictable world.

Our workshop was called "CONNECTION THROUGH PLAY", an inspiring space to learn about how children and adults communicate through the universal language of play. We learned about the importance of play to support our children's development, and created engaging and simple invitations to play. We understood the benefits of games and interaction comparing it with online gaming alone and how this makes us feel.

Take a look at some snippets from our workshop at the conference, and keep an eye for future events!
