CHOOSE A 60-min WORKSHOP FOR YOUR CLASS

Three play-based school workshops designed for different ages, learning environments and support needs. Each session is delivered by trained facilitators, with all activities and resources brought directly to your school.

SENSORY PLAY FOR INFANT CLASSES

For Junior and Senior Infants

A playful whole-class experience filled with textures, colours, movement and open-ended materials. Children are free to explore in different ways, follow their curiosity and connect with their classmates through shared play.

The session supports sensory exploration, creativity, communication, confidence and social connection, without expecting every child to participate in the same way.

SENSORY PLAY FOR AUTISM CLASSES

For primary-school autism classes

A calmer, flexible sensory-play experience created for smaller groups of autistic students. Children can explore carefully selected sensory and open-ended materials at their own pace, with space for movement, choice, regulation and retreat.

The session is responsive to the children in the group, creating an accepting environment where different ways of playing, communicating and participating are welcomed.

DISCOVERY MAKERS CREATIVE SESSIONS

For First to Fourth Class

A hands-on making experience where children are invited to imagine, design, build, test and adapt their own creations. They use a range of materials to experiment with possibilities and bring their ideas to life.

The session encourages creative thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, decision-making and the confidence to try.

Meet Mireia: Play-Based Learning Advocate

Teacher | Play Specialist | CPD Facilitator | Podcast Host

Mireia Lopez is a qualified primary school teacher with an MA in Psychology of Education, a certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills, and Train the Trainer Level 6.

In 2017, she founded Discovery Playtime to promote play-based learning for children’s positive development. Originally from Barcelona, Mireia has been working in Ireland since 2011, specialising in play and art-based learning aligned with the new Irish primary curriculum.

She also hosts the Rediscovering Childhood Podcast, sharing ideas and inspiration on play, education, and mindful parenting.
