Children are so often shown what to make, how to make it and what the finished result should look like. Discovery Makers does things differently. We provide open-ended materials, an inviting environment and plenty of time, then give children the freedom to decide what happens next.
There is no one right outcome.

Thinking beyond the obvious and exploring what something could become.

Working things out, testing ideas and finding their own way forward.

Discovering that when something doesn’t work, they can change it and try again.

Learning to trust their own ideas and discovering what they are capable of.

Sharing ideas, helping each other and naturally creating alongside others.

Making choices and solving problems without always looking to an adult for the answer.

An idea forms.
Something doesn’t work.
They try another way.
Someone else has an idea.
The plan changes.
They keep going.

We provide interesting, open-ended materials that can be explored, combined, transformed and used in countless different ways.
Possibilities rather than predetermined outcomes.

Children have time to explore an idea properly.
They can change direction, start again, become absorbed in what they're doing or leave something behind and discover a completely different idea. There is no rush towards a finished product.

We trust children to have ideas worth following.
We give them opportunities to make decisions, encounter problems, experiment with solutions and discover what they can do for themselves.
We are there to support them when they need us, without taking over the process.
It might look a little different. Children might be working on completely different things. Someone might be deeply absorbed in one idea while another child is experimenting with several. Materials move around. Plans change. Conversations begin. Children notice what others are doing, share ideas, help one another and sometimes join forces. There is space to make, experiment, play, talk, wonder and simply see what happens. That's exactly how it's supposed to look.
Let’s explore parenting and education through honest conversations. Each episode brings insights from parents, teachers, therapists, and experts, inviting a fresh look at traditional parenting methods.
With practical tips and a celebration of childhood’s magic, it empowers listeners to foster meaningful connections and embrace joy in everyday moments.
